Healthy Lunches to Help Get You Through the Day

In my previous article, I gave you examples of some healthy, low calorie, high MUFA meals to start the day. In today,s installment I would like to offer you some recipes for lunch to keep you going during the daytime. As before, all of these recipes are between 375 – 425 calories, are high in protein and MUFAs, healthy and delicious. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Grape Leave Wrap

  • One whole wheat, low calorie wrap
  • 2 grape leaves
  • 2 tbs Hummus
  • 1 tsp crumbled feta cheese
  • 2 tbs olive tapenade
  • 2 tbs chopped tomatoes
  • 2 slices of avocado

Chicken or Turkey Wrap

  • One whole wheat, low calorie wrap
  • 2-3 slices of oven-roasted chicken or turkey breast
  • 2 tbs Hummus
  • 1 tsp crumbled feta cheese
  • 2 tbs olive tapenade
  • 2 tbs chopped tomatoes
  • 2 slices of avocado

Mango Salsa Salmon or Tuna Wrap

  • One whole wheat, low calorie wrap
  • 3-4 oz Salmon or Tuna
  • 2 tbs Mango Salsa
  • 2 slices of avocado

These are just a few of the kinds of healthy, low calorie lunches that will keep your energy level high and help get you through the day. As mentioned previously, small frequent meals containing the right kinds of ingredients is the key to proper nutrition and when combined with exercise will help you shed those unwanted pounds.
